Horsehair Seed Pot Pottery. Created by Navajo Artist Sylvia Johnson from New Mexico.
Features Browns, Greens, Terra Cotta, Blue & Burgundy.
Just under 4" tall. 5.5 p" wide. 15 mm opening.
Each handcrafted pot starts from a raw casting. It is then painted and in some cases, etched with a pattern and then fired. Horse Hair is then arranged along the pot before fired again. The cindered remains of the hair form the web looking designs on the pot.
