Traditional Horsehair Pottery by Navajo Artist Skeeter Vail- father to Tom Vail. New Mexico
Approximately 4.25" tall. 6.5" wide. With 95 mm opening.
Each handcrafted pot starts from a raw casting. It is then painted and in some cases, etched with a pattern and then fired. Horse Hair is then arranged along the pot before fired again. The cindered remains of the hair form the web looking designs on the pot.
